Patrons, Advisors and Volunteers

Patrons

Amanda Blair is involved with a number of charities in Adelaide and can be heard on 5AA between 1pm and 4pm weekdays. In addition she is a columnist for the Sunday Mail.

As a media identity Amanda has played an active role in promoting the work of the Society and we have benefited from an ABC Stateline documentary focusing on Club Slick as well as an article in the Sunday Mail.

We sincerely thank her for her continued patronage.

Tommy Kaye is an icon amongst lovers of Rock ‘n’ Roll and his radio show ‘Six O’clock Rock’ attracts a keen audience including many members of Club Slick. Tommy has been involved with a number of Club Slick functions over the years and having as much passion as he does about rock ‘n’ roll music he was the obvious choice for Club Slick patron.

We are happy that he accepted and look forward to many years of jivin’!

Advisors

Advisors are attached to the Society in an honorary capacity.

Dr Brian Matthews is a lecturer in Disability Studies at Flinders University and provides advice to the Society on Educational matters. He has been associated with the Society for a number of years and has served on the Board; most recently in the role of Secretary. Due to other commitments Dr Matthews has resigned his Board position but is happy to remain associated with the Society in an advisory capacity.

Mr Nick Swan is our honorary legal advisor.

Volunteers

As with any not-for-profit organisation, volunteers are an integral part of the Society. We are extremely grateful to the many people who give up their valuable time to help us out with Administration, Early Intervention, Life Ed, Work Experience and Leisure and Recreation.

To become a volunteer, please fill in the Volunteer Application Form and fax to (08) 8261 7660 or e-mail to info@downssa.asn.au
