Leisure & Recreation Calendar

Recreational activities for people with Down syndrome are an important ingredient in developing a sense of inclusion, confidence and healthy self esteem and a sense of well being. Because people with Down syndrome have special needs, they are often excluded from or cannot attend the everyday social and recreational activities that "normal" people take for granted; simple activities such as sleep-overs, play-dates, birthday parties, school holiday care programs and participation in music, dance, theatre and sports. Down Syndrome SA has proactively addressed this issue by providing regular recreational and social opportunities for people with Down syndrome so they can participate in activities with other young people like themselves.
