Training & Consultancies - Courses for Parents/Families
At various stages during your child’s time in the Early Intervention program you will be given the opportunity to attend a number of information sessions and training courses.
Some sessions are targeted at parents only and offered whilst your child is participating in an Early Intervention morning. For example:
- Behaviour Management
- Pre-Reading skills
- Pre-Writing skills
- Scissor cutting
Other sessions are open to all people involved with your child (e.g. parents, siblings, grandparents, carers etc). For example:
- An information session entitled ‘Will My Child……’ that looks at expectations around skill development in the areas of walking, talking, reading.
- Survival signing
Adhoc courses and information sessions occur as and when needed and in the past have looked at topics including sleeping, eating, legal issues (including wills etc).

To find courses specifically designed for parents/families, choose the ‘All’ option. The results returned will be those where ‘Parents’ have been nominated in the Audience field. The Audience field gives an indication of who would most benefit from attending a particular course.
Searching for courses by an individual category will return any course in the category targeted towards parents. Parents/carers who are financial members can attend training programs for free.
